Abstract photography of architecture

Artwork donated to charity Article 25

This year’s focus for the 10x10 London flagship fundraising auction for charity Article 25 is the Isle of Dogs. Each year, the charity divides a section of London into a 10x10 grid with 100 squares. These are then allocated to architects, designers and artists who in turn capture their unique view on the city through various artistic methods.

Essence No. Millwall

My square this year took in some of Millwall. Using abstract shapes formed of contemporary and brutalist era facades, shadows of balconies and ironwork of buildings on the bank of the River Thames, I've blended these structures to create a repeat pattern to illustrate an '"Essence of Millwall". Printed with an elongated format iof 16x3 inches the artwork invites the viewer to step inside and take a closer look and get a feel for the intricacies of the riverside architecture.

Take a look through the previous galleries of past auctions to get a feel for the artwork - and spot mine! Also keep an eye out for when this year’s art is featured as you’ll be able to take part in an online auction or you can buy a ticket to attend the event on 18th November.

About Article 25

All the funds raised from the evening go to the charity Article 25 which designs and oversees the construction of safe, appropriate buildings in the developing world that ensure basic needs like health are met.
