Exhibition at Artisan Space

My next exhibition will showcase a body of work which focusses on the beauty of brutalist architecture. From 21st November-4th December, my work will be on display in a solo exhibition at Artisan Space in Putney (Artisan & Vine, 195 Lower Richmond Road, Putney, SW15 1HJ).

Being based in Croydon, which is going through phenomenal development, my exhibition at Artisan Space focuses on ‘Change’.

With a passion for brutalist era architecture this features predominantly in the exhibition as I place a spotlight on the often-overlooked buildings.

My study of St George’s Walk in Croydon, which has recently been demolished, has been printed small format to entice the viewer into the brutalist world to take a closer look at the intricacies and the beauty of these concrete icons. As the old adage goes ‘the devil is in the detail’.

Step inside and take a closer look at the brutalist wonders. How the complex series of shapes, surface materials and colours intertwine and create a source of beauty in the small frame. See how, through the simplicity of shadows and light reacting to the concrete pillars of car parks and intricate mosaic facades, the buildings are elevated from concrete jungle to iconic status.
