What If?
Art in Crisis is a national programme of public events presenting compelling, original artwork made by artists experiencing homelessness. At Crisis Skylight Croydon, the festival included talks, an exhibition and walking tours around Croydon. It included additional art work in Rise Gallery with work also featured on hoardings outside Katharine House on Katharine Street.
The ‘What if?’ exhibition is the result of a three-month creative project between Crisis members and local artists. The photography project was led by Daniel Regan and supported by Rise Gallery and Art Halo.
The event marks Crisis 50th year looks through the eyes of its clients with art examining the past, looking at the present and into the future.
On the opening day, Surrey Street market hosted live music and spoken word – a fitting launch to the event.
Pieces included photography and poetry which were creative, inspired and incredibly thought provoking.
